A striking vintage coffee table combining a substantial teak framework with a large, clear glass top. The base is constructed as an expressive arrangement of intersecting rectangular members, with projecting joinery left deliberately visible throughout. Its construction gives the table a distinctly Brutalist character, emphasizing structure, repetition, and the physical relationship between each component.

The warm tone and solidity of the teak are contrasted by the visual lightness of the glass above. Rather than concealing its construction, the transparent top allows the entire framework to remain visible, turning the joinery and geometric composition of the base into the defining feature of the piece.

Architectural and sculptural in equal measure, the table has a strong presence while remaining surprisingly open within a room. The combination of richly toned wood, exposed construction, and a seemingly floating glass plane recalls the material experimentation found throughout postwar European design, including the furniture work of Max Ingrand and Fontana Arte, without being attributed to either designer or manufacturer.
