Set of 8 High Sticking Dining Chairs by Frank Gehry for Knoll
1993/1994 production.
Inspired by the surprising strength of the apple crates he played on as a child, Frank Gehry created his thoroughly original collection of bentwood furniture including the Hat Trick, PowerPlay, and High Sticking pieces. The ribbon-like designs transcend the conventions of style by exploring, as the great modernists did, the essential challenge of deriving form from function. Constructed of hard white maple veneer strips, laminated 5 to 7 thick with high-bonding urea glue, these chairs are both beautifully designed and striking in any space.
This set has been completely re-glued to be fit for immediate use. Very small areas of light wear, mostly underneath the chairs is still present, though not while in use. The original plastic glides have been switched out with felt pads for easy, quiet sliding along harder surfaces. All chairs sport the burned on label, signature of Frank Gehry, and the date of production.
All chairs (8) are being offered as a complete set for this listing, however if there is interest in parting out to 2 sets of 4 chairs, we are open to this. Please inquire should you be interested.
